The Chungbuk Free Economic Zone Authority said that the building permit for Osong Life Science Complex II (Osong Biopolis Zone) requested by Yuhan Corporation was approved in the May. The new factory construction of Yuhan Corporation for a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant will be built at 688, Jungjung-ri on a site with an area of 11,497.5㎡and a total floor area of 17,072.61㎡, comprising a structure with three stories above ground and one story underground. Construction is scheduled to begin in August, with completion targeted by 2026. The industrial site at Osong Life Science Complex II consists of a total of 96 lots, all of which have been sold. Of these, 67 have already been completed and are in operation, while six are currently under construction. With the construction of the Yuhan Corporation's factory proceeding even amid the recent economic downturn, the industrial complex is expected to see a boom in new factory construction. Osong Life Science Complex II covers an area of 3,284,000m² (approximately 990,000 pyeong). It is an industrial complex specializing in bio-related industries such as BT, IT, and advanced medical technology. Together with Osong Life Science Complex I and the Health and Medical Life Town located nearby, it forms the largest bio cluster in Korea. A representative from CBFEZ said, “We will do our best to support companies that have decided to invest despite the difficult economic situation," and added that CBFEZ will ”provide administrative support so that the Chungbuk region and companies can thrive together.” |
