?Chungcheongbuk-do announced that the “21st Chungcheongbuk-do Volunteer Harmony Festival” was successfully held on Monday, October 27th, at the Jincheon Hwarang Hall, with over 1,000 volunteers and related personnel in attendance. The event aimed to recognize the dedication of volunteers across the province and to foster unity and morale.

?The 21st festival was hosted by the Chungcheongbuk-do Volunteer Center and organized by the Jincheon Volunteer Center under the theme “Precious Encounters! A Promised Future! Volunteering.” The event emphasized the value of volunteering as a bridge connecting communities and as a driving force for a sustainable future.

?This event was held to express gratitude for the united volunteer efforts shown in response to wildfires in Gyeongbuk during spring and flood damage from heavy rains in summer, as well as for the crucial volunteer support that contributed to the successful hosting of the Yeongdong World Traditional Music Expo and the Jecheon International Oriental Medicine Bio Expo. It also served as a platform to boost volunteer morale and promote communication and harmony across regions.

?The opening ceremony was attended by Governor Kim Young-hwan of Chungcheongbuk-do, Chairman Lee Yang-seop of the Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Council, Jincheon County Mayor Song Ki-seop, and Chairman Lee Jae-myung of the Jincheon County Council, who delivered messages of congratulations and encouragement to the volunteers. In the second part of the event, a variety of unity programs such as performances, games, and quizzes were offered to revitalize and uplift the participants.

?Governor Kim stated, “I sincerely thank all the volunteers who extended a helping hand at disaster sites affected by wildfires and torrential rains, and those who contributed to the success of the two expos. I hope that the warm hearts of our volunteers will become the starting point for building a happier and warmer Chungbuk.”

?Go Young-dae, Director of Provincial Resident Communication at Chungcheongbuk-do, added, “I deeply thank all the volunteers who have worked hard to spread warmth throughout the province. I hope this harmony event will serve as a stepping stone for the continued spread of a culture of sharing.”

?Currently, approximately 460,000 individuals are registered as volunteers in Chungcheongbuk-do, with about 80,000 actively participating in volunteer activities each year.
