내용 “Forest Picture Book Playground” Created at Nolkkotmaru, Offering a Sensory Picture Book Experience -

A “Forest Picture Book Playground” has been created at Nolkkotmaru, a multi-purpose play space for infants and young children filled with the sound of laughter.

The “Forest Picture Book Playground” goes beyond a simple reading space, expanding picture book stories into an immersive sensory play experience. It was designed to support sensory development and enhance emotional expression in young children.

In this playground, children can express the emotions they feel after reading a picture book through facial expressions, explore textures that resemble the emotions in the story, and illustrate the sounds from the story through drawings-naturally engaging in play-centered reading activities.

In particular, the exhibition and experience space is organized into four themes: a zone for reading books and expressing emotions, a sensory experience zone connecting emotions in books with textures, a creative activity space for expressing sounds as images, and a hands-on activity area where children gather their sensory experiences to create their own book. The layout allows children to move freely and participate at their own pace.

Seo Dong-gyeong, Director of the Health and Welfare Bureau of Chungcheongbuk-do, stated, “Through the creation of this space, we plan to help young children perceive books not merely as materials to read, but as worlds to explore through play and experience. We will continue to expand and operate creative experiential programs that reflect the unique learning characteristics of infants and young children.”

Meanwhile, the Forest Picture Book Playground operates between 10 AM to 5 PM from Tuesdays to Sundays every week, and is open to all visitors for free exploration and participation.
