내용 – Strengthening forest experience and disaster preparedness education targeting 18,000 participants this year –

The Chungcheongbuk-do Forest Environment Research Institute plans to operate various forest experience and interpretation programs at Midongsan Arboretum until early December this year, aiming to benefit 18,000 participants in 2026. Six professional forest interpreters stationed at the arboretum will lead the programs.

Visitors interested in participating in forest interpretation programs can apply at the arboretum visitor center or via the official website. The programs are open twice daily (morning and afternoon). In addition, a Nature Learning & Experience Class (weekdays) and a Weekend Forest Experience Class for families (held monthly on Saturdays) will also be operated.

In particular, this year’s programs will include customized activities designed for different target groups nationwide to enhance awareness of forest diversity and its importance. Interactive programs tailored to infants, students, families, and general adults will help participants easily understand the public benefits and ecological functions of forests.

Furthermore, during high wildfire risk periods, special programs will be conducted to raise awareness of forest disaster prevention. These programs will focus on the causes of and responses to forest disasters such as wildfires and landslides, as well as everyday wildfire prevention guidelines.

Kim Young-wook, Director of the Forest Environment Research Institute, stated, “We hope visitors will learn the value of nature and relieve everyday stress through the forest interpretation programs.” He added that the institute will continue to provide more enriching and professional programs in response to evolving forest welfare needs.
