내용 - Urging residents to get their shots to prepare for resurgence of COVID-19 -

Chungcheongbuk-do Governor Kim Young-hwan got his fourth COVID-19 booster shot on Wed, Jul. 20 at Sangdang Public Health Center in Cheongju.

After his inoculation, Governor Kim said, “It has been confirmed that fourth booster shots have over 50% higher prevention rate against severe symptoms and death compared to third booster shots. I urge Chungcheongbuk-do residents to actively get their booster shots to prepare for the resurgence of COVID-19. Especially, unvaccinated residents and those in high-risk groups and aged 18 and older who have not gotten their second booster shot must get their shots.”

Governor Kim stayed at the center to get a report on current and response status of Sangdam Public Health Center against COVID-19 and praised the staff members afterwards.

Residents subject to fourth booster shots are residents aged 50 and older, residents with weakened immune system or underlying health condition, and residents who are admitted or work in high-risk facilities, such as nursing hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, centers for persons with disabilities and homeless shelters.

Chungcheongbuk-do has a population of 1,591,483 residents, and 657,179 of whom are subject to fourth booster shots. As of Tue, Jul. 19, data revealed that 188,695 residents have been inoculated, which is 28.7% of those eligible.
