- Prioritizing realizable projects such as injecting KRW 63.1 billion to 5 leading tasks
- Vision proclamation ceremony will be held to coincide with 20th anniversary of Cheongnamdae □ The Chungcheongbuk-do Lake Park Renaissance project, the first project approved by Kim Yeong-hwan, the governor of Chungcheongbuk-do, elected in the 8th popular vote, will be promoted in full-force from next year. □ Despite being located at the center of the Korea, Chungcheongbuk-do has always been neglected in the national development plan. Chuncheongbuk-do intends to become the leader of the new central inland scene through the realization of the "Lake Park Renaissance" approved by governor Kim. □ Especially, as the special bill for supporting the central inland linked development, one that governor Kim has been strongly promoting since inauguration, has become visible within this year under the strong support of local political circles, civic and social groups, to bring more momentum to promoting the Lake Park Renaissance in Chungcheongbuk-do. □ In a word, the Chungcheongbuk-do Lake Park Renaissance is a project aimed to making Chungcheongbuk-do a better place to live and establish the identity and brand by starting with a paradigm shift that turns obstacle into a stepping stone to grow. In other words, it can be seen as Chungcheongbuk-do's bill of rights and declaration of independence that turned weakness into strength by maximizing the value of 757 lakes, including Chungjuho Lake, Daecheongho Lake, and Baekdudaegan Mountains Range, the waist of the Korean Peninsula, which have been bound by many regulations. □ Moreover, the way in which this bold plan has been proceeded is also unique. Proceeding large-scale projects usually depend on outsourcing and through it injecting a huge budget, but Chungcheongbuk-do is building its framework based on the advices of experts in the field, public officials, and Governor Kim with an emphasis of listening to their opinions to predict the feasibility of implementing the projects rather than making a solidified plan. □ The Chungcheongbuk-do Lake Park Renaissance project so far is focused on the five leading tasks, including Cheongnamdae, Midongsan Arboretum, Joryeongsan Recreational Forest, and Miho River. The key task for each field such as culture, art, ecology, environment, science, technology, returning to farming, returning to home village and more is to improve the overall completion of the project through collaboration with 11 cities and districts with the common direction. □ If you look at the main ideas behind the five leading tasks. ○ We first have a plan to promote Cheongnamdae as the primary model for Chungcheongbuk-do Lake Park Renaissance. - First of all, the Narasalang Leadership Education & Cultural Center, which is scheduled to begin construction in next March, will be constructed at the level of a hotel, and National Eco Trail (lakeside deck) and parking lot will be additionally built to promote the entrance way of Cheongnamdae a popular spot. - In addition, water watching rest area will be built along the lakeside of Cheongnamdae, and currently unused facilities will be reborn as interactive cultural spaces such as coffee shops, and small-scale concert hall. □ Midongsan Arboretum and Joryeongsan Natural Forest will be refashioned as representative tourist spot for Baekdudaegan Mountains Range, focused on ecology and environment. - First of all, the Midongsan Arboretum will be open to the public for free, and Is planning to build forest-themed coffee shop and sculpture park, and build a new natural recreation forest in the nearby provincial land. - In addition, Joryeongsan Recreational Forest aims to become the best tree house resort in Korea by 2026 through installing a total of 63 tree houses, which can be seen in the old cartoons such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. □ The Miho River, the first tributary of the Geumgang River and the lifeline of Chungcheongbuk-do, focuses on improving water quality and creating a water-friendly recreational area. - First of all, the agricultural landscaping through planting rapeseed flowers, buckwheat flowers, and reeds around the Miho River and the Hapsumeori Stream of Musimcheon (known as Kkachine) and Miho Bridge will take place. - Then, as soon as the ongoing services (Dec 2021 - Jun 2023) are completed, the Miho River will be developed as a representative model of the Chungcheongbuk-do Lake Park Renaissance by carrying out various projects such as restoring water quality, securing water supply, disaster prevention, and building water-friendly recreational area. - In addition, naturalistic experience facilities based on OHP* will be expanded, such as installing tree houses and building a campsite using an abandoned school at the Chungcheongbuk-do Nature Learning Center. * Outdoor Hospitality Park (naturalistic experience tour such as camping, glamping, and caravan stay). □ On the other hand, Chungcheongbuk-do will plan to accelerate the process in realizing Chungcheongbuk-do Lake Park Renaissance by seeking the ways to prepare all available financial resources, such as the special account for balanced development, the fund for preventing local extinction, and the special grant, to support Lake Park Renaissance and its related projects. □ Governor Kim Yeong-hwan said, “Chungcheongbuk-do Lake Park Renaissance has already begun and continues to evolve. In the meantime, we will make adjustments where needed and look for additional tasks in the future to announce a more specific vision that all citizens of the province can agree with at the 20th Anniversary of Cheongnamdae in next April.” And he also added, “We will do our best to lead Chungcheongbuk-do as a nature-friendly province living in harmony with rivers and lakes by opening up new inland scene through Chungcheongbuk-do Lake Park Renaissance. |
