| CBFEZ Promotes Product Development to Increase the Competitiveness of the Fragrance Industry | |

The Chungbuk Free Economic Zone (hereinafter CBFEZ) announced that it will begin full-scale implementation of the “Fragrance Research Institute Operation and Product Development Support Project” in March.
The objective of this project is to strengthen competitiveness in the industry by supporting the localization of raw materials and improving the quality of the fragrance-related companies in the province. To achieve this, CBFEZ provides customized support throughout the entire process, including ▲ the use of fragrance-related equipment, ▲ fragrance training, ▲ fragrance product development, ▲ prototype production, ▲ establishment of a production process, and ▲ fragrance product analysis. CBFEZ established the Fragrance Research Institute in the Chungbuk TP Bio Center from 2020 to 2024 and set up a fragrance laboratory, education rooms, and a fragrance ingredient production room and laid the foundation for product development for fragrance-related companies in the province. In particular, CBFEZ provides 17 types (21 units) of equipment for fragrance ingredient production and analysis to help with the technical difficulties companies face in product development. Companies also get access to the four types of Chungbuk scents (Miseonnamu, Jeongipumsong, Jikji, and Chojeong Sparkling). CBFEZ head Choi Bok-soo said, "The fragrance industry is becoming a key industry that goes beyond simple consumer goods, and it now improves the quality of life and provides experiences that provoke emotions." He also said, "With this project, CBFEZ plans to actively support companies in the province to develop differentiated products and become more competitive in the market." |
