Youth Challenge Support Project Demonstrates Strong Role as a Youth Employment Platform
내용 Youth Challenge Support Project Demonstrates Strong Role as a Youth Employment Platform
-A 97% completion rate and measurable employment and startup outcomes, drawing attention as a practical jobs policy-

CBFEZ announced that its Youth Challenge Support Project has been serving as an effective platform to support young people who have withdrawn from job searches in the region and help them re-enter the labor market.

According to CBFEZ, the 2025 program identified 833 such young people in the province. Among them, 240 were selected for participation, and 233 completed the training curriculum. Of those who completed the program, 74 achieved related outcomes such as employment or business start-ups.

The program provides intensive, customized support for up to 25 weeks (200 hours) to young people aged 18 to 39 who have lost self-esteem and confidence due to repeated job search failure, career interruptions, or social isolation, with the goal of helping them return to society.

Participants received structured support through multiple stages, beginning with initial counseling and followed by ▲intensive counseling, ▲case management, ▲confidence recovery, ▲career exploration, and ▲job competency strengthening. In particular, the program recorded a 97% completion rate and high satisfaction, supported by one-on-one tailored counseling with dedicated case managers and practice-oriented training.

CBFEZ also expanded eligibility through proactive and inclusive administration. After extending the upper age limit for youth to 39 based on the Chungcheongbuk-do Youth Basic Ordinance, CBFEZ broadened participation to include groups more likely to be underserved by employment support, such as youth preparing for independent living, North Korean defector youth, and youth entering or leaving youth shelters.
CBFEZ expects the project to contribute to increased youth social participation, cultivation of local talent, and long-term improvement in employment rates. It also plans to further expand youth-tailored job policies based on its experience of being selected as a top-performing local government nationwide in 2024.

Commissioner Choi Bok-soo said, "We will strengthen follow-up management during the remaining period and increase linked employment support so that young people who have given up on job searching can receive practical assistance." He added, "We will also make active efforts to expand participation opportunities for more young people next year."
